Paper-Bag Fish
Materials Checklist
- Tempera Paint in various colors
- Newsprint Paper
- Yarn (cut into 6 inch pieces, one per child)
- One small brown paper bag per child
- Two large wiggle eyes per child
Standard Supplies
- Craft Glue
- Scissors
- Paintbrushes
- Shallow Containers
- Newspaper
- Ruler
Preparation
Cut the Yarn into 6-inch pieces-one per child. Cover work
area with newspaper. Pour paint into shallow containers.
Instructions for Making Paper-Bag Fish:
1. Crumple pieces of newsprint paper and stuff into the
bag until it is half full.
2. Gather the opening of the bag to make the fish's
tail.
3. Hold tail together while teacher ties yarn around it.
4. Paint the entire bag to look like a fish. Decorate with
various colors.
5. Paint the fish's mouth on the end (bottom) of the
bag.
6. Glue a wiggle eye on each side of paper-bag fish. Allow
to dry.

them? (Come and follow me.) Jesus wanted them to become his
friends and help him tell people about God. The fishermen
left their fishing boats and fishing nets to go with Jesus.
They knew that Jesus was special. Jesus was God's own
Son.
